Acolleague of mine just came to my room to say, "I am quitting smoking!!". For a moment, I was surprised and did not know how to react. By the way, I have never discouraged nor encouraged anyone to smoke. But I am not a smoker though.
She went on to tell me how difficult it has been for the past six days while she tries to kick nicotine addiction. Through her narration, I could really feel it's not easy. She used to smoke at least 15 cigarettes a day. The last day that she smoke was seven days back when she puffed only three.
As she walked back to her place, she turned back and said,"Please standby me and remind me not to lit that stick again. I want to be healthy."
All the way, gal! I admire her spirit to kick a bad habit. And I admire her courage to rally people to remind her not to give up by telling everyone around her. Umm... maybe I should tell the world that I am trying to kick the habit of procrastination. Then maybe everyone would greet me in the morning with,"Have you made up your mind? ... Whatever it is?"

My dad used to be a smoker too. But he kicked off the habit when I'm still a kid cos he started to be more health conscious. I really admire him how he react to his smoker friends that he was NOT into puff since LONG TIME AGO !!
All the best to your friend :)
I used to smoke in my early twenties (often after a workout hahaha) but I quit. I used to do a lot of unhealthy and dangerous things (many illegal)--I like to be safe these days. I hope your friend remains cigarette free:)
It's nice to hear of your friend taking proactive steps to stop smoking. I can't help but feel sorry for them at times. It's a habit, not a good one but sometimes I feel they're being treated like criminals. People who walk near them wear a frown or 'tsk tsk' at the sight of them holding a cigarette. Smokers are relegated to far away seats in the food courts marked by a yellow box. I am not encouraging people to smoke but come on, give them some dignity lah.
Thank you for stopping by my place and for the kind comments you made. You are most welcome any time...and I hope you return often. I also have your site bookmarked now. How peaceful the music....I closed my eyes and just let myself drift.........
Smoking is such a horrible habit and so very hard to stop...I quit 19 years ago. Tell your friend to keep her hands busy when she really craves a smoke. Knitting, crocheting, drawing...I used to play Gameboy or sometimes just those little small plastic handheld games. She's doing a good thing.
Be well.

Yeah, it's always difficult to get rid of our long-grown-cultivated habits he he he...
Why do people say...Habits die hard..
Procrastination isn't a bad habit if you use the time to think through. You're alright my friend :)
mm smoking is one of the hardest things to quit. Having watch my own grandfather go through 3 large packs a day, I really admire those who really take steps to stop. Kudos to your friend really!
haha Quitting procrastination? mm looks like I should get down to that too. :P
Some find it extremely difficult but it was easy for others! I admire those who want to do it and thats the key really!
