Say No Evil

"Hey, have you heard that ...."

How easy is it to start a conversation in the manner above. And alas! How easy will it often lead to gossips. But what is so bad about gossiping, some would ask? What else then is there to talk about?

The one in search of Light speaks only when what is spoken can be repeated to the one he is talking about. Simple as it sounds, upon contemplation, I find that I have always failed to do it.
What about you?

Words spoken truthfully and honourably
can be repeated to anyone else
with a clear conscience.

I am challenging myself for a one week Say No Evil Boot Camp. To see if I could survive one week without saying anything that cannot to repeated to others. The rules I am setting myself to follow:
1) No lying (obvious!)
2) No flowery speech
3) No harsh speech
Since this is a Boot Camp, hence only three rules. I invite anyone interested to join this camp. All who joined would be linked in my results of Say No Evil Boot Camp Report one week later.

I am here to support you, my friend :)
I'm not too sure what is the requirement & what should I do?

But whatever you do, I will be there to give you a hand !! ;p

Hi Jan!

Thanks for your support! Whoever joins the camp must observe one week of the following rules:

1) No lying (obvious!)
2) No flowery speech
3) No harsh speech

All achievements or areas to improve will be put up on the Boot Camp report to encourage a new wave of Good Honest Speech. Game?

3) No harsh speech - what should I say if my students never do my homework????

P.S. Still working on your tag :)

I'm in too. Do our blogs count, some may feel as if some entries are harsh or flowery for that matter, or is it just concerning me in the world I interact in?
Peace,
Robert

Hi Karen! I'm a good girl today, so far no harsh words, only painting and painting and painting. Glad I joined this camp!

WaterLearner said...

Hi Emila!

Good for you! Way to go gal! For me, abstinence from harsh words difficult. I found one of my staff not doing her job. Very very nearly gave her a good dressing. But I "took control" and managed to just state the facts. Not easy huh. But... to be honest, I think my face was black. Phew, lucky I did not set the rules that I can't be Black Face!!

Sorry, came a bit late. Very busy yesterday. I am definitely in but number 3 will be my weakest point.

My husband will think I am sick for the next 7 days! Waahahahaha.

Sorry,I AM IN! I am gonna barge in on your camp if you don't let me in, HEH :)

Thanks for this post.I have no problems with the flowers, but I do lie (for image's sake at times) and have harsh speech, as Ms loi says, for students, and sometimes to family members. I will also try not to gossip in this boot camp! :)

Thanks!!!!!
